International fixtures for Australia’s 2023/24 summer of cricket have been revealed, with Sydney set to host matches for both the Australian Women’s and Men’s teams.
The all-conquering women’s team will open their summer at North Sydney Oval with a pair of T20 internationals against the West Indies on October 1 and 2. The team will return to the spiritual home of women’s cricket on February 7 and 10 for ODI’s against South Africa.
The men’s team will welcome Pakistan for the traditional Sydney Cricket Ground New Year’s Test, that will begin on January 3 and again double as the Pink Test for the McGrath Foundation. The SCG will also play host to the West Indies for a day/night ODI on February 4.
In a huge win for fans, entry level prices have been frozen for the eighth consecutive year, with men’s international prices starting from $30 for adults, $10 for kids and $65 for families.
Fans can also secure early bird ticket prices by joining the Australian Cricket Family pre-sale that commences on 17 May. Cricket Australia is offering ACF members a 15% discount for tickets purchased in the presale on select seating categories. This offer will only apply in the pre-sale before tickets go on sale to the public on 6 June.
Overall, throughout Australia, 11 venues across seven capital cities will host matches against the three countries.
The NRMA Insurance Test Series against Pakistan will start in Perth on December 14 with two world-class pace bowling attacks to feature on the fast Perth Stadium surface. Babar Azam’s team will also feature in the Boxing Day Test at the MCG and the New Year’s Test at the SCG.
The men’s Test season will extend into late January with Adelaide (17-21 Jan) and Brisbane (25-29 Jan) to host fixtures against West Indies, with the pink ball day-night Test shifting to the Gabba for 2023/24.
The West Indies men’s team will also feature in two white-ball series, with the Dettol T20I and ODI series to be played across Melbourne, Sydney, Canberra, Hobart, Adelaide and Perth in February.
The world champion Australian women’s team will bookend the international season, starting with the CommBank T20l and ODI series against West Indies in October, followed by a multi-format series against T20 World Cup finalists South Africa in January-February. This will include the first ever women’s Test match between Australia and South Africa from 15-18 February at the WACA Ground.
Cricket Australia CEO Nick Hockley said: “Cricket provides the sights and sounds of the summer and brings Australians together like no other sport and we can’t wait to welcome fans to watch world-class cricket next season.
“We look forward to West Indies, Pakistan and South Africa visiting our shores this summer and we thank them along with all our partners, including broadcasters, venues and local governments for their support in bringing top-class entertainment to fans around the country.
“We are delighted to be offering our most loyal fans the opportunity to secure the best seats at the best prices in our Australian Cricket Family pre-sale. We’re also proud to be able to keep our entry level ticket prices flat for the eighth consecutive season to ensure as many people as possible can experience and enjoy women’s and men’s international cricket.”
